Really? I know the website has issues, but this page is 3 clicks from the home page.

Edit: Ah, you mean on openserve.co.za, well the WFBA product, which is the first item under Products, is probably what you are looking for (Wholesale Fibre Broadband Access).

Wait, so you are saying that providing copper from your house to the nearest DSLAM/MSAN costs *nothing*?

(DSL rental doesn't support any of the same costs that the 'Copper rental' covers, it only covers DSL-specific costs such as DSLAM, backhaul, DSL-specific faults etc.).

I used the openserve website. Clicked on link to show interest for fibre. Entered address, and only have an option to select DSL. No option to show interest in fibre. Try it.

Of course it should be free... The taxpayer paid for it!!!

Are those inefficiencies, complexities, and high costs associated with the wholesale division? If so, are we in for price increases now that it must fend for itself?

Most of us don't have a problem paying for it. It's paying twice for something the taxpayer already paid for and then paying indirectly via IPC again we have a problem with.
 
When can we slaughter the Telkom pig? Is this the throat, can we expect smoked ham 1Gbps fibre links any time soon?
 
I am so excited about this!! , but then I remember... Telkom is Telkom, Monopolies don't fall willingly. Whats the catch?
 
It's good to see they've ditched the Telkom brand as it has such a poor reputation. Just a pity the logo still says "a division of Telkom".

I just hope there is a big internal push on quality now so that Openserve can build a better reputation. If they've done nothing in the background, then they are likely to be just as loathed as Telkom.

The catch is they're changing reluctantly before falling unwillingly. It's too late though. Telkom will fade into the background as a small ISP.

Lol no, this is Telkom wholesale that will mainly deal with ISPs who know who they are and not the general public.
 
If this is a new beginning on a new path then i\m excited. Hopefully they will be as open as their name says
