hey everyone, new here. im from and been living in sa for a couple of months now. right when i was in zim and you got an adsl line the speed of the actual line to your house meant nothing, the only thing that affected your speeds was the bb package you were on and the backhaul to the closest exchange.

now its pretty interesting that telkom offers 3 different line speeds to your house? im not planning on going with telkom as my isp but obvioulsy have to get my line thru them. i am going to use Nexus ISP as was very happy with them. i have two questions, firstly does it make any difference which line i take from telkom?? in terms of the speed i get from them. i mean if i take a 512 kbps line is that the absolute fastest i am going ot get out of the line as the beauty of the isp is its unshaped afterhours, so i had no problems when i had it before connecting to wow or overseas servers, and i was downloading at speeds in excess of 512 kbps (and yes im aware that 512 kbps does not translate into 512 kb/s) and the line i was using was 1 4M line

secondly ive been doing a bit of research and stumbled across webafrica, are they any good? there packages sound interesting

thanks

Download / Upload speeds are limited to the line specifications and Web Africa is an excellent ISP. I would highly recommend them !
