Telkom Line Upgrades

We are waiting for June 1st (2010 :D) for the official announcement, theres plenty of threads on this, please use the search function next time :p

Guy i actually have some interesting news for you.
I went yesterday for a job interview at quite a well known company based in Sandton.
It went extremely well as i ended up going out for drinks at the Keg with 2/3 directors who interviewed me and got on the topic of broadband etc.
Their company has 4 ADSL lines bonded making 20mbit and they said that each line will be upgraded to 8mbit AFTER the worldcup.
This company also has level 1 priority when it comes to fault reporting with Telkom btw
 
If their network freeze thing is indeed going ahead, and it probably will, I also only rate we will see speed upgrades after the world cup.
The capacity for streaming games to overseas countries is already there and completely seperate from us as the end users of telkoms normal network.
 
At the existing speed they going to be buffered to hell. Can u imagine the internet speeds during the world cup to us plebs at the bottom if it stayed at 4Mbps we would have nothing

They are wrong

Firstly, lines are being upgrade to 10Mb and not 8Mb like they said
Upgrades WILL happen in June before the world cup. There is no way they wont.

I can promise you this and you can bookmark this post if you want ;)

Would be awesome if it does happen, but i highly doubt it!!!
 
ja, with the whole freeze thing i just can't imagine telkom risking a speed upgrade before the WC, they just can't justify it

I still am waiting patiently for June 1st this year :)
 
Just had quite a jump in my heart, was bursting, and then sat at a constant 600Kb/s download !!:wtf: intense ! it dropped to 500 and then went to 612.. damn !!
Cant wait for 1June :whistle::whistle:
 
I upgraded my line with Cybersmart last week and they gave me a 10meg line. I didn't even know that was available yet. Speeds are impressive since then.
