My one is particularly problematic. It does not receive OTA updates, and the HDMI port is starting to malfunction. Also, no bluetooth (it's an A06).
Add that to the present lack of netflix, and the R1100 Xiaomi box became quite compelling.

There just seemed to be a lot of complaints and returns on the 06 version.

Can u not do a non-OTA update? I know its a hassle. For that matter, does anyone have a URL for a new firmware for the a06? Is there any actual website?

No, not possible afaik - unless you go custom firmware - and then, will you get certified for dstv and netflix?

Hmm ok, yeah custom is a bad idea then. Was wondering about an official one

Mine is soldiering on, DSTV, ShowMax, NetFlix, all going well, now to sort Prime TV out and I am done tinkering, tho I am patiently waiting for my friend to return from UK with an Amazon Fire TV stick, the one with the new remote

Yes most of the boxes get OTA updates.
Mine does not. Nology are a bit stumped

My modded Netflix that I got from somewhere in this thread is still working fine ,but it told me there's an update available..is it safe to do the update or should I leave it

I updated mine last night, and my NetFlix still worked afterwards, safe or not, cannot say.

Could be, as I am almost certain that there is now a NetFlix app in the Google Play store, will check properly this evening, last night I did not really have time to fiddle.

Well I was given 3 options for updating from, Play Store, APKpure, and Aptoide. Cannot recall which was selected, when I pressed the "enter" button on my keyboard. Checking about, afterwards, did not give me a version number either. Going to get home late this evening due to among other things, getting my eyes tested for new "glasses" , probably going to cost a fortune, but they are indispensable.

You right - just installed it, and it says not compatible with device, so why is it in play store?

I have both the a06 and a07. Both running the same version and both don't get ota updates - says latest version already installed or something like that.
