Telkom LIT Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

Morning everyone. I don't know if there is anyone still in the Cape area that needs a Lit box, but i had a talk with the Paarl mall shop this morning and they have stock available, but only for cash buying, not for adding to a contract.
 
anyone using cetusplay?

if so, do you find that its response is quite sluggish?
 
Page 69 has the link to the netflix tv app to side load, works perfect

Unfortunately the sideloaded version isn't perfect. I still have to use a launcher and regularly need the mouse.

BTW - page numbers mean little since people used different pagination settings.

I finally installed Chrome. I did the ok google trick, lol. It didnt work at first. A couple days later, I just randomly tried it again and it installed. But I can only use it via sideload launcher.

I also got kodi to work without buffering, finally:D. It gave me headaches. I turned resample quality under audio to low. I didnt notice any difference with the sound. But i have no buffering and even large files stream nicely over the network. Found this fix after turning every setting on and off in kodi, redoing my file server, changing all settings on my router, lmao.

Will this box ever support DTS-HD-MA? Is it a software or hardware limitation?

Whats the issue you have?
 
I had to turn option for DTS hd off. If i turn it on in kodi. I have no sound. I also tried VLC and Plex. The funny thing is if i turn it on in Kodi, the movie starts with no sound. Then i go into settings while the movie is playing and toggle passthrough. DTS HD MA audio starts to work after a min or so.

Not Netflix, it is the distributors that demand certain DRM's etc to be inplace before Netflix can stream the content in that specific country. Then there are things like the dinosaurs at FPB that want to slap netflix with ratings etc, which will make it more difficult for Netflix to stream certain content.
 
Can somebody do a DRM info check on the Lit Box - the Widevine Level , and HDCP level .

Does it have Widevine Level 1, and HDCP protection ?

Because it is just way too much effort for them - they thought they where being clever when they sold the distributors the "NetFlix Approved" line for a discount on what they have to pay the distributors. Now it is becoming an issue, so they quietly make no waves about side loaded APK's - they work so long as the required DRM is present - so they are getting their bread buttered both sides.

hi guys. I have the A07 model. Remote used 2 set of batteries over the first 4 month but has now used 2 set of batteries over the last 2 weeks. Same brand batteries. See other people had an issue with this.

Any solutions or is their another brand remote I could rather use on the box?
 
If I sideload an app and when I open it it is sideways, is there a way to get it to display properly?

Any brand usb or even Bluetooth airmouse will work.

Mine has also gone tot he ****ter and needs to be replaced

I wonder if telkom covers it under the warranty
