No, wont count against your limit on the account.
They limit the amount of devices per account (4).
Uninstalling 1.40.12 and installing 1.40.16 makes no difference, as it will still report the same device to the account.

ps. You probably need to uninstall. When I installed via ADB, I had to specify to replace the old version.

So I assume you have the remote on the left? I have the one on the right which came as part of my bundle.

Yup, that's the one.

I'm talking about button definitions here:

I don't recall the number key definitions being available in that list on the right

OK good to know... I just need the app to be a bit more stable and the adaptive bit rate more responsive.

So far so good.. Dstv doing a good job

I'm receiving an error using 1.40.16. It says there was a problem loading your request. The screen just shows the circle but then nothing loads. Was working fine as soon as I installed though. Tried a reset and cleared the cache. Anyo me with similar problem?

Uninstall it and load 1.40.18

No issues here.. Working, maybe a dstv auth error was experienced earlier
 
I wonder if there is an off the shelf remote that works with the LIT ?

I'm not talking a Harmony or FLIRC - just maybe one of those off the shelf media remotes ?

Ur will need to get a IR receiver and then test the remote.. But should work fine
