Telkom LIT Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

So I've found that http downloads from overseas are shiite on the box.
Buffering problems etc.

Can't tune the TCP stack at all.

So I installed squid on my Nas box and pointed the lit at it. Makes a huge difference....
I thought downloads in android were naturally slow, I've experienced in all my phones, maybe try a download manager, which I use on my phone

I have 2 issues with my lit box

1. The air mouse is always on when im done watching something. So have to switch it off each time to get the normal remote buttons to work. Hate this

2. When i goto sleep i switch off the tv but leave the lit box where it was. Then next day for some odd reason the lan network doesnt work. Rebooting doesnt solve it. I have to select manual ip and then re select dhcp to get it working. What the heck??

Doesn't help with streaming...

To add to this, my P10 lite downloads app store updates at about 3MB/sec which is kind of what I'd expect off wifi. This is definitely a tcp tuning issue on the Lit.

1. I also hated the air mouse, and so moved on to using my logitech harmony remote. Works wonders with the device.

2. I leave my Lit box on 24/7. Only once a week it reboots by itself but the LAN keeps on working fine. It is plugged in directly to my Mikrotik RB751G router.

I have never switched it off. The player has to be switched on again each night though. Couldnt find a setting that puts it to sleep?

Does anyone have any issues with battery life on the remote? Not even two days and batteries done.
Yes me to was brought up earlier in the thread as well seems not everyone has this issue though. Got myself some rechargebles now so will see how that goes.

My box also switches off by itself during the night anyway to stop it have the same issue with the lan.

Please elaborate

When the box switches off and I switch it on again the lan doesnt work I unplug the lan cable and back in then it pics up the lan

The guys having the going to sleep mode at night and losing LAN, which version of the Lit box do you have? A06 or A07 or A12 ?

I’ve moved over to the fire stick while I wait for bug fixes and hopefully (oh pretty please with sugar on top) Netflix certification . That is kind of a deal breaker for me as I hate the android version

For some reason my LIT box never comes out of sleep mode. Have to hard reset the darn box almost every morning just for the darn thing to work again.
