Finally, after the second firmware update, netflix works like a dream, dstv now can update and the new android 8.0.0 interface is much smoother. Those worried about dstv now that can not update after the first lit box update, dont worry, wait the till the second firmware update hits, then it will update under the playstore

Agreed. My install froze on the TELKOM LIT branded screen after leaving it there for at least a half hour I switched off and back on again using the button, after plugging it out never worked and it updated to version 8.2.36.

DSTV NOW could not be found in the Playstore and the bundled version only showed "Full Description". I could not update, install or open.

About 30 mins later it updated to 8.2.38 nd DSTV NOW & Netflix and Kodi running Exodus add-on works perfectly. The YOUTUBE app was very buggy and froze for months on end previously. Have not tried it on the update as yet.
 
I haven't seen an update on my LIT box yet, A06. However I am 100% certain that is because my Pihole DNS server is blocking tms001.tr069.co.za which my LIT box is trying hit quite often. I also think that is how the update is probably rolled out to everyone, and not through the android OTA or settings update mechanisms. It would also explain how to update can target specific boxes with specific serial numbers, because TR069 protocol allows for this.

Will whitelist it for a while and see if I get anything.

I'm pretty sure the lack of Amazon is Google ; I'm not perfectly sure you'll get Amazon on any Android TV. I think I recall seeing nVidea guys also not happy about it

Nope, it's Amazon's fault, they want us to get their fire devices.

Sorry that's what I meant - it's the rivalry between the two. And I think Google retaliated with their YouTube not on the Fire?

same here. i didnt get an update pop-up. and the box went to sleep overnight

this morning i switched the box on, it started up but gave the error screen.
i had to pull the power cable and re-insert in order to get it to start up again

it started up fine, but no update pop up

Tried going into Settings>about>update and it shows that it successfully checked for an update.

I'm guessing that if the update fails then it restarts the download?

Just going to continue to use the box as normal, just told the wifey to look out for a pop up and follow the prompts. and then message me when it appears

If I understood correctly, the upgrade is only going out to A07 for now, not A06. I have both and only the A07 is getting the upgrade popup.

Last night had three update popups and one this morning, when I select Update it reboots the system and shows android bot with error. Removed power cable and re-insert, LIT Box then start up as normal with version before update.

Ok just got a message from wifey that it asked for an update. Currently on the LitBox splash screen. Gonna give it the 30 min wait and then tell her to pull the plug and restart
 
Hi all i have A07 did update 2 times last night so now on latest version anybody knows how to uninstall dstv now app i have old ver 2.0 of the dstv now app prefer this older version as compared to new version,tried running dstvnow.apk ver 2.0 via sideload and it fails,did this before in the past and i was able to uninstall lastest version of dstvnow app then ran old dstvnow.apk ver 2.0 but now there's no option to uninstall dstv now app as they have bundled it in update as part of system any help will be highly appreciated.
