Hi guys, i have got myself a LTE deal with Telkom. It runs really good. I have one small thing that i am unable to get information on. I have a Linux (ipFire) firewall running between my Router and my "Local" network. I am trying to setup my ssh on my firewall so that i can connect in from work or so using my phone. But for some reason i seem to get blocked. I have switched off the routers firewall and allowed ssh connection on the firewall. But are unable to connect from the out side. I am able to connect locally to the firewall using ssh. So my question is does Telkom block ssh? Any information would be greatly appreciated. :)

No ports are blocked according to my experience. Insert the ip address of your linux box in the dmz space on the b593 and enable. This will forward all incoming ports to the specified ip (you firewall). Port forwarding to be done on the linux box. On the linux box you should use the b593 ip address as your gateway. My MT is configured this way and i can access all ports. I assume you are usng a b593. If not sure there is similar feature on thr lte a router.

LTE blocking Port 445 ?

Hi Guys,

I don't know if this is true but it seems that way.
Let me explain the situation.

I work at an IT company and some of our clients have LTE. We have a hosted server for one of our clients that access files on it. The client has recently moved so we provided them with LTE until we get the Fiber sorted for them. Since the change to LTE they could no access their files on the Hosted server. We have also got LTE in our office. So I tested it from our LTE, same problem. Then I connected to our ADSL line that we also have at the office. Boom works fine. I can browse all files on the Hosted server. Then I tested other networks like MTN from my Phone 3G and also works perfect. Then I hear from another Customer that also have LTE also having the same Issue on a different Hosted server.

I have also tried Vodacom from a 3G dongle and also works fine.
I have reset our LTE router
disabled Firewall on LTE
Have taken the Sim from LTE and put into a 3G dongle and still would not connect to the Hosted server.

Now the Port that its trying to connect to the server is 445 (SMB)

I simply want to see shared folders on the Hosted Server and as far as my understanding that Uses port 445 (SMB)

For some Reason I just can't get through on Port 445 on LTE. Any other network is fine and I can Actually get on to the Hosted server.

So my question is if anyone has come across this issue before ?

I see this post is 2 years old, but have you ever solved the problem?
I have the same problem, we access out server via hamachi on remote desktop. Adsl works perfectly. Vodacom and Telkom 3G work, MTN and cell c do not work.
I now got Telkom LTE for the office and it is not working. Cannot access remote desktop and the buttons on Hamchi stays blue.

Also when I do a speed test at speedtest.net it does the download speed test fine but when it does the upload speed test I get an error saying that some firewall might be blocking the connection.

Change your APN for LTE to unrestricted
