Telkom LTE down?

I have the same problem... have to force MANUAL and hit it a few times before it connects.
Does anyone know what is wrong with TELKOM again? Its like a weekly thing with these useless idiots

Terrible ping latencies and packet loss..
Speed tests are a joke...

WAKE UP, TELKOM!

I think that it's down. On the SAIX notice board, for the Eastern region, there seem to be some data services down (Ballito and Mt. Edgecombe).

It has been down for me all day today since about 6am (going by when I received my last push notification).

If I manually choose a network the 4g and 3g ones seem to register, but only if I have 3g or auto selected in the frequency box. But even though it is registered, the main router page says disconnected.

I'm in Durban.

Down like 20 min in Sandton but working again.

I called support and they said uncapped users have been reporting issues this week from around the country. Apparently there is no ETA on a fix?

What is the supports number? I've been hanging on for 180 for a good 5 hours (total) over the last couple of days with zero luck.....

It seems as if the broadband lte sims have somehow been locked from going to anything other than lte (from what I can see). I am registered on the 3G network but have absolutely no internet connection, and when I try manually connect to the 4G network it says "denied"..... Yet 3G and H+ works on my mobile.... Frustrating!

Had issues earlier in the week but okay now.

With respect to connecting to 3G - from the start the Sims were only allowed to connect to 4G.

IIRC though, a couple months ago some users on here said that it now also worked on 3G. Personally, I've never got it to work on 3G when 4G went down.

My LTE is going down for hours every day now. The support agent told me it was an uncapped thing, so I bought a normal prepaid sim which sits in a phone and it is doing exactly the same thing.

Is it possible that my tower has run out of "slots" or something?

Twas fine yesterday, again this afternoon, can barely even load MyBroadband.co.za.

This issue, has been going for at least 2 weeks.
It is characterized by the LTE router taking up to 2 minutes to get a signal and connect to the tower. The basestation is approximately 130m away from me... and calls on the network are dropping and signal fluctuates, in addition to absolutely CRAP battery life on my phone at home.

The pings go up exponentially till you get 3000ms + pings to a local site, and then suddenly they go down. What also happens is the "dead connection" syndrome... data flow abruptly stops and your HTTP downloads die.

There is seriously something VERY WRONG with Telskam's UNCAPPED LTE network. I am contemplating ditching it. It used to work well, but either we have an over-subscription issue (which I really doubt 'cause the regular prepaid SIM works like a MOFO in the same router) or Telkom has a problem in their network they are too stupid to fix...

The issue with the fluctuating signal, I see it on my mobile phone, as well as my LTE router. Its annoying AF.

Can someone shed some light as to WTF is going on and how long the idiots need to fix this, or do they have to send for the people in China to help?

I finally after 2 months of emailing, calling and visiting the store got mine canceled.
What a nightmare to deal with Telkom.
And yes the LTE uncapped service has gone down the tubes, most days I could not connect, or would have zero signal.

Switching frequencies used to be easy - nowadays you have to hard reboot to actually get it to reconnect (if the chosen frequency is available in your area).

LTE uncapped as well here.

Performance still relatively good here otherwise.

In regards to frequencies.

I have to use the 1800MHz band, because when, it works, it works (get 2Mbyte/sec on a good day)
The other band 2300MHz, when it used to connect, got around 500kbyte/sec max, never more.

At this moment it will not connect to the 2300MHz band no matter what. If I set the router to use the 1800MHz band, it takes anything from 5-10 minutes to get a connection. 3 weeks ago, if you connected power, the LED went to turquoise within 10 seconds of power. Now it remains red, go off, make coffee, and come back later.

Now what blows my mind is, nobody knows anything, no network notices, f0kk0l...
