Telkom LTE frequency/bands

Those LTE speeds are better than what I am seeing in my tests of the new Cell C 5G service ...

How does the B618s-65d compare with the MC801A in terms of speed ? The MC801A uses a Qualcomm SD X55 chipset which should perform very well on LTE with Cat22 7-Band carrier aggregation.

It would be interesting to see how the MC801A fares against the G5TS on the same LTE service as that uses a different ZTE chipset which has 3GPP Rel. 16 support but presumably inferior LTE performance.
I have both the B618s-65d and G5TS and the MC801A outperforms them both on LTE. I have tested Telkom, MTN and Vodacom.

How much faster on average do you think it is versus the B618 and the G5TS ? Is it 10, 20, 50 or 100% faster ?

A quick test:
Both routers next to each other on Telkom LTE 80+80 service.

Only noticed now the speedtest servers were different, but shouldn't matter much
I at least made sure that both routers were using the same bands, but if memory serves, the 618s-65d does not have band 20.

@ajax: Many thanks for doing the tests ! A 30% improvement is noticeable. I would be very happy with those speeds, particularly the 32Mbps upload.

Unfortunately my suburb does not appear to be in line for Telkom 5G coverage but I would settle for those LTE speeds. I will be very interested to see what data deals are going to be offered on Black Friday this year.

Plenty of issues with G5TS and Telkom. Router cant aggregate band 40+40 as well as 3+40 so it will stick to a single block of 20mhz.
You will be stuck on 40 or band 1+3.

Yeah, MC801A can do 1+3+40, for example. My signal isn't that great, but performance is excellent nonetheless.
Can also do 40+40 but switches bands automatically when the upload test starts.
