Possible solution to slow Rain 4G LTE speeds

For this method, we're going to use the LTEview app (by @ProAsm) to switch from Rains default band B3 to B38.

You require these in order for the band switch to work.

1. A compatible Huawei router (Supports TDD B38 or B41 2500/2600Mhz).

Huawei routers that will work (Not all are listed):
B525s-65a * B38 2600Mhz & B41 2500Mhz
B525s-23a * B38 2600Mhz
B315s-22 * B38 2600Mhz
B315s-936 * B41 2500Mhz
B535-932 * B38 2600Mhz

2. External antenna/s.

3. A Windows PC


A few important tips
* Not all routers are compatible with Rains B38 TDD band. A Google search with your routers model and the word "bands" will give you an answer.
*B38 DOES NOT PENETRATE easily. If you have the standard flat antennas, you may need to move the router itself to the window.
* You also may have to move the router in all directions to catch the signal. North window, south window, and so on.
* If you leave the router in the middle of the room, you will not get a signal.
* Lastly, not all towers broadcast B38. Rains default band is B3, which is always congested. That's why most users have speed issues.

Also, if you have the TP-LINK MR200, you can flash beta firmware to select the B38 band manually without third party software, same instructions for the rest otherwise.

Does the air fibre not require a whole community to agree to it for them to bring it like fibre back in the day?
Yeah, and will most likely be focused in areas already fibre enriched anyway. Pity Supersonic doesn't have more packages for their LTE to recommend people move away to though (like 500GB, 1TB, Uncapped Lite etc.) the Uncapped package is not attainable for a lot of people otherwise at the moment.
