Telkom LTE frequency/bands

How does one go about changing frequency on a B618-65D?

The Router Interface doesn't appear to have these options

Band 40 + Band 40 (40MHz spectrum)
Band 1 + Band 3 (15MHz spectrum)

Here is the band tool and hope you are using windows.

Edit huawei_band_tool_config.txt with the correct router IP, username and password.

With Telkom you would mainly Focus on these
LTE_1800.bat Band 1 only
LTE_1800+2100.bat Band3 + Band 1 4G+ Upload auto band
LTE_1800+2100_UPLOAD_1800.bat Band 3 + Band 1 4G+ but upload is Band 3
LTE_1800+2100_UPLOAD_2100.bat Band 3 + Band 1 4G+ but upload is Band 1
LTE_2100.bat Band 1 LTE/4G only
LTE_2300_TDD.bat Band 40 LTE/4G only or Band 40 4G+

Simply run any of those bat files to change between bands.

Thanks a lot!!

1. Download the 'E5186 Toolbox 0.9' and install it somewhere and backup the config.xml file
2. Download this file: http://www.proasm.com/other/config.zip and unzip it to where you backed up the xml file.
3. Execute 'E5186 Toolbox.exe'
4. Connect - Network Band: and select '2300 Mhz / B40' - Apply

If this is all Greek then check out sajunky's topics here:

By default without doing the above^ will the B315 pick up Telkom signal if its in the 2300 Mhz range?

The chances are not good of that happening.
Problem is your modem will always accept the lowest frequency, simply because over a distance the lower frequency is always stronger.
Sometimes, like in my case, the local tower only has 2300 and the 1800 is on the main tower, like 2.2 km away.

Been looking at this:

https://www.takealot.com/portable-mimo-lte-antenna-ts9-connector/PLID69084390

I know it's been mentioned Telkom uses the 2100MHz and 1800MHz band - So my question is basically is this guy gonna work with my Huawei B618s-65d on the Telkom 4G LTE network?

Doing some research on the web it's been mentioned this antenna picks up on 800MHz, 1800MHz & 2600MHz
(UK bands)

Any info appreciated.

My router shows 1800mhz and 2300mhz

do I just change it late to 2300mhz I’m gonna use my TELKOM night shift data that 60 rand for 450gigs

So with the new spectrum. What will MTN and Vodacom be able to do with it now and will it be available on all towers?

Are we talking 4CA(carrier aggregation) on 4G

And what is 5G going to use

Telkom is using the temp spectrum in 800MHz rolled out on LTE band 20.

I don't think we will see 4 carrier aggregation though. Networks have a mix of spectrum on tdd and fdd which isn't ideal to aggregate as you lose capacity vs just having 4x4 or massive mimo.

It has been done already

SA networks just has to do the same now

It is 2022 and everyone and their dog HAD to get some type of internet. Now thing is my router is getting good speeds in the high 20s to low 30s. But it is unstable as all hell. Then I saw someone showing speeds of up to 120Mbs + on Telkom and this is because they have a magic router. My router isn't magical.

So in 2022 what routers has the potential to give me the speeds I need. I had a look at a few TP-Link routers and D-Link routers and ZTE.

I like D-Link so I went to dlink.com and searched for the D-Link DWR-956M/T2 Fibre/LTE Wi-Fi AC1200 Dual Band Gigabit Router

Nothing...

met ys ja.JPG

So was I stupid? Did I search for the wrong thing? I don't know but I do know is I can't find documentation on this thing.

So accept for Huawei what other routers is known to work with Telekom?
