Telkom LTE Tower Map

Hi everyone,

Anyone know where I can find a cell tower map like http://www.cellmapper.net please I might consider getting LTE Router and Sector antennas to point to Telkom's Towers while I wait for fibre (still another month and a bit to go).

A few words of advice:
The correct antenna position (Poynting XPOL006) and performance of the tower will either make or break this offer.
The wifi on the Huawei B315 is rubbish so it's worth investing in a decent 802.11ac Access point.
I managed to get in when it was R599 PM x 24 months.

Lekker, I do get coverage at home, I was wondering if I might have gotten something like cellmap, giving me the LAC, RNC ID, Sector number etc so I can better triangulate, this can work for now I guess. I might rent a router and test it a bit.

I am still trying to map Pretoria with regards to Telkom and cellmapper, unfortunately can only contribute 3g data at this point.

I did however manage to locate my tower as LTE and 3g co-existed on the same tower

I was thinking of the same thing, doesn't make sense to erect new towers when you can just plug in new sectors.

Just be patient with loading times. MNC=02 is Telkom

Very hard actually but if you notice any towers look if they have Flat like panels. Those are Telkom.

With unwiredlabs you can get your approximate tower location you are connecting to.

It pointed to the new tower (it wasn't on the map before) I was connected to when I noticed my signal and LTE speed had improved.
