Telkom Mega 100WR is dead. Any advice?

Hello, guys!
I tried to upgrade firmware for %subj% and probably kill it - switched off power when modem had no sign of life (goddamn procedure! you never know what's going on during update). When I again switched it ON, no any light came on.
I guess there is no any "backup" chip to restore state, but may be there is some "hard reset signal"? (say, 360V on power :) )
(hardware reset button didn't help)
Any advices are welcome!

what a moron architect such H/W?? There is ALWAYS chance people doing smth wrong and "readonly chip" with backup firmware is essential. Doh...
 
Am surprised it lasted this long. Those things are ancient!
 
We bought a new Netgear N300 on our Telkom account from a Telkom shop - was basically half the price of the exact same unit sold at Incredible Connection at the time!
 
Thanks, guys! I agree that buying new one is easiest way, but not for IT guy :) First I wanna kill modem completely :) and only then throw away.
During exploring the topic I found interesting idea: JTAG. Here is example of "debrick": www.usbjtag.com
My modem also has some kind of JTAG interface - it looks like 4x2 pin grid where one grid row has no vertical pins (just holes in the board), so I have 4 pins in a row (may be it's enough, since "reduced JTAG has only 2 pins!).
Anyway, I'm noob in electronic, but I'm able to solder cable and use flashing software - seems enough to fight! :) May be somebody knows what is manufacturer of these modems? (Telkom is just a label) Because in I-net I see a lot of tech info on modems for well-known names.
 
Horrible routers. A blessing in disguise that it's finally cooked. Go get a proper router like the ASUS B12NU
 
Well, I still have my old Mega 200WR in cupboard somewhere, and it still works. Also got it for free back then.
