Ive downloaded it. How do I use it?

Looks like you have to "load" it into google earth.

Edit:
Download Google Earth and install, then open file from Google Earth. It overlays on map.

Just double click it if you have google earth loaded on your computer and it will populate on google earth search.

Seems to be an old list - 2015/06/23.

If the signal spreads are realistic, then this is nothing close to true coverage - I'm way out of coverage on these.

The signal spreads are a graphic to show position. For an indication of coverage you would need to look at the Telkom website. This is just to identify tower positions and not coverage.

I've had a fault out with Telkom for 8 months now for my LTE; collapsed from 75mbps to < 0.5mbps overnight back in August, restoring to around 5mbps after a week (at least I could internet bank again). Had visits by techies, no problem my side, they just refer it to 'network' who do nothing. Slight improvements over the months have got me up to around 20mbps if no congestion. If there was an alternative in my area, I would dump Telkom immediately, but no no fibre, etc., expected in my area for the next millennium.

Have you tried switching from 1800MHz to 2300MHz?

Erm... no .... how?

See this thread:
https://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showth...x-for-new-Huawei-HiLink-devices-(E5186-B315s)

go to /api/net/net-mode

replace

<request>
<NetworkMode>03</NetworkMode>
<NetworkBand>3FFFFFFF</NetworkBand>
<LTEBand>7FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF</LTEBand>
</request>

with

<request>
<NetworkMode>03</NetworkMode>
<NetworkBand>8000000000</NetworkBand>
<LTEBand>8000000000</LTEBand>
</request>

and write to API

Your modem will connect only to 2300MHz base stations.
