Telkom Mobile - ridiculous support

I can only laugh instead of exploding at the level of incompetence at this company. I seriously challenge the Telkom rep here: IF YOU CAN RESOLVE MY 3-week OLD PROBLEM which is a SIMPLE NUMBER CHANGE on a CONTRACT ie. let a Telkom prepaid number take over a Telkom contract number, I will not tell the world what I think of Telkom :crylaugh:

BTW, I duly phoned 081180 to ask for an email to complain, they gave me this obscure address: [email protected]

When I emailed to it, I got this back:

Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:

[email protected]
The recipient's mailbox is full and can't accept new messages at this stage. Message therefore not delivered. Please try resending this message later. [Telkom SA SOC Limited. Registration nr : 1991/005476/30]

What can you do other than laugh at this? Either they are inundated with complaints or they don;t attend to them, or BOTH! :mad:
 
lol, I tried the same thing in November last year. In the end, I had to cancel the contract and I am keeping my prepaid number.
 
Did they let you cancel the contract because they couldn;t do the number change ?

I took advantage of the 7 days cooling down period. When I placed the order I asked that they do the switch before delivery. They did not. I called them immediately and they promised that they will submit my number for porting. 4 days later there was nothing and I called them again and they told me stories and I cancelled immidientely.

Go to the telkom store and let them do it on the system.. You will receive a 1 time pin to confirm the change.. if you dont receive that pin, nothing happens
 
And today they managed to do the switch-over, a full 4 weeks since I first requested it.

Reason was the IT guy was sick, so nobody could do the migrations except this 1 guy.

Staff has been cut to minimum levels it seems.
