Telkom new caps

Got this email from Telkom on the 1st:

Dear TelkomInternet customer

Great news for all our valued TelkomInternet AllAccess customers! We have extended the FREE blended data promotion for another month, 1 September to 30 September 2011.

We have also increased the data allocation for when the data promotion is over.

The blended data will automatically be added to the following packages on 1 September at no additional charge:

Promotional data cap
Current data cap and name 1 Sept 2011 New cap after promotion – 1 October 2011
1 GB TelkomInternet AllAccess 5 GB 1 GB TelkomInternet AllAccess
5 GB TelkomInternet AllAccess 10 GB 6 GB TelkomInternet AllAccess
9 GB TelkomInternet AllAccess 20 GB 10 GB TelkomInternet AllAccess

Now you can save on those TopUps and even download more music and movies at no additional cost! Just another way TelkomInternet would like to reward our valued customers for their continuous support.

After the promotion ends at the end of this month:
1 gig account returns back to 1gig
5 gig account upgraded to 6gig
9 gig account upgraded t0 10 gig

This is the ISP side... PLENTY of competition!!

I just wonder what the point was of giving us more cap for two months? A lot of people i spoke to did not even know they had more bandwith.

Ah well i am not surprised and just glad they did not increase the caps and charge us more...

I've finished my blended 10 gb but haven't been capped yet. I know telkom reserves the right to charge to charge me for exceeding my 10 gig cap but do you guys reckon they will. Oh I'm sitting on 26 gig so far.

well i think the point of giving everyone extra cap was to actually monitor the gen usage and
derive from that what most ppl are using and not what some ppl want, hence the small upgrades
from 5 to 6 and 9 to 10 ... blame the other clients who aren't using every scrap of cap :}

that said why not just find another ISP for data and let your wallet talk like the rest of us.

BS, since no one really knew about the increased caps, general usage is already limited because of lower caps.

It only shows bandwidth used, sign up for daily emails on the notifications tab and it will give you available bandwidth
