Telkom nightmare vs Vumatel... NIGHT AND DAY difference

I've been trying to transfer ownership of a Telkom line (including broadband) into my name.
Should be simple right?
Well, it's taken 2 months already, and it's still not completed.

I've been waiting to upgrade my line but can't because the line still isn't fully in my name. It's now in this "pending" no-man's land. Neither me, nor the previous owner, can do anything.

I've phoned Telkom every second day for the past month.
I keep getting escalations and case numbers, but nothing ever happens.
I get promised feedback from Telkom IT in a few hours, but hear nothing for days.

I eventually decided to just ask Vumatel to install a line in my house. It took them TWO DAYS after receiving my application and i now have an installation on Monday. What a staggering difference in service.

Except, now Telkom tells me I can't cancel my line because, again, this damn order is still "pending"

Telkom wonders why it's bleeding customers? It's because of stuff like this.

Telkom varies from person to person . But I agree they could "create some jobs " and hire a few dedicated people to handle applications/cancellations
