Telkom out of bundle issue

I have a strange issue with my data sim. I switched the router off for a week as I wasn't home. On return, I turn it back on and am confronted with an out of bundle notice. That shouldn't be possible because I have over 20gb available and unexpired.

Have tried their social media side but no response.

I've had the same for some weeks now. It happens when my router connects to the Vodacom roaming network. If I manage to connect to a Telkom tower (not easy, I'm right on the very edge of the coverage zone) then it works. But recently the signal seems to have gotten weaker and I'm stuck waiting for the roaming to be fixed.

I'll have to check then because my phone connects to Telkom not Vodacom and I've had this router in the same spot for over a year. What's odd is that if I reboot it, it connects for a while but no throughput then oob notice.

Roaming. So no Telkom Mobile only data.

I've had this 'out of bundle notice' as well as a 'your internet has been paused' crap when I switch on in the mornings, several times in the last month or so.
I just reboot my router and all is well again.

This sucks. Looks related to how they id this Vodacom roaming which is seen as Telkom rather than Vodacom so the router thinks I'm not roaming.

If you want to be sure you force Telkom network on a router Force it to 2300MHz.

Vodacom does not have that frequency so sorted.

Yeah could be why. Next tower too far a way while Vodacom tower is nearby and broadcasting Telkoms network ID.

Would be really cool if Telkom can setup a USSD code that you can disable vodacom roaming for your sim. Would be handy for routers ect.

If you can't wait have a look at telkom mo nice deals at *123# you are bound to find a decent all net bundle you can use while they hopefully bring the tower back online soon.
