Telkom warns against bandwidth thieves who steals your DSL password and your connection. But Telkom is stealing money from most/many(?) of their do Broadband users.

I opted for the R199 fast ADSL. When I look carefully at my account and add the VAT, I notice that they charge me R152 + R79 = R231.

U Telefoon Lyn R 98.16 = R 111.90
DSL Fast Bundle R 133.33 = R 152.00
TI-AllAccess R 69.30 = R 79.00

WaitingCall R 4.39 = R 5.00
Standaard Call Answer R 8.64 = R 9.85
Telkom CLOSER Opsie 3 R 156.36 = R 178.25

Telkom steals R32 per month from their customers. (I wish we can get a class action on this one.)

Today, at last, they acknowledged verbally that they are over charging me. There is no email address or written method to communicate with them. I'm still waiting for a refund.

(Hint: Residential users may phone the business number, 10215, because sometimes/often they answer that number faster than the residential number!)

Not to worry, it's just their billing system AFAIK.
Check under "Discounts".
Or wait till next month.

Yeah there should also be a credit amount though which straightens things out.

don't forget to take into account VAT as well.Even a PhD maths would struggle with the telkom bill. especially if you start/change your service mid month.

I also noticed this on my account, but found the discount credit like 5 mins later :)

its a very confusing system. I think everyone falls for it - why they just can't charge you R199 is beyond me. They have a complicated system and then have to give you discount so that the price eventually comes down to 199

Telkoms chinese maths.

I think its the discount u get by having a "Do" package, instead of sep line and internet.
