Yes and true.does the figure include WiMAX customers - makes only a small difference but still
of course market share here isn't an exclusivity domain - most ISP consumers have more than one account
Naked ADSL and LLU?Maseko also said that the wholesale business will be making its services available to all service providers “on a non-preferential basis”.
doubt it.Naked ADSL and LLU?
Naked ADSL and LLU?
doubt it.
Wholesale will have to offer it as a product.why the doubt?
surely if wholesale has a line price then non-discriminatory measures should apply
and non-preferential here means that preference cannot be given to the largest competitor to Telkom Group ...
Wholesale will have to offer it as a product.
no product, no service.
simple.
Product will be the line rental + DSL rental at the same price for everyone (licensed everyones, of course.)
as long as it is provided at the same price to all, no room for complaint.well the line rental is the important price
...
and is what some will complain about - wanting preference and all that
So you're saying they will simply rent out the infrastructure twice for anyone that wants to offer DSL?Wholesale will have to offer it as a product.

Twice? You are confused. So you're saying they will simply rent out the infrastructure twice for anyone that wants to offer DSL?

Depends... if the ISP or ONO builds their own infrastructure (POPS, etc) and only want last mile access then they will only need the POTS line rental...
at a non-voice revenue subsidising rate though ...
That is my point. Telkom can't very well rent it out and then dictate how it should be used can they? Whether I pay R200 for POTS or DSL and use DSL I don't really care. Just not going to pay twice for the same thing.Twice? You are confused.

It costs R400/month for the copper laying here behind me that's not being used?the line rental price is realistically closer to R400
then there is the DSLAM equivalent costings ...
That will depend on whether you are leasing a POTS line or an DSL service (that will include a POTS line rental). That is my point. If they really lease infrastructure it makes no difference. ISP can decide to offer POTS service or DSL.That will depend on whether you are leasing a POTS line or an DSL service (that will include a POTS line rental).
You won't be able to just lease a DSL service unless Telkom goes for naked DSL or LLU.
