Telkom record?

This must be some kind of record.

08/05 - Phoned 0800375375 @ 17:15 to report intermittent disconnects - was helped within 5 min. They dialed back.
09/05 - Receive SMS @ 10:30 that my fault has been handed to a tech.
09/05 - Tech arrives at my door @ 11:30.

Low and behold - He found nothing wrong.

Disconnects still continue as I write this thread.

It was too good to be true though and somewhere something had to go wrong... so he couldn't find a problem. Thats one good thing plus one bad thing = You got average service from telkom! Thats a first! They must be upping their game!
 
30/05 - R400 bill arrives for unneccesary call out??

The other morning I phoned at 6.55am and the phone was answered immediately. Not even a second of that insufferable music.
 
You still have the problem, so what exactly is the record?

If you didn't have the problem, then it would be a record ;)

That's happened to me too.. I actually thought it was an answering machine. The lady who answered had to say "hello" twice Haha
 
I had same day service on a line fault this week.
Phoned mid morning and had a techie at the door after lunch :)
Problem solved.
Also had an analogue line converted to ADSL in under 24 hours this week.
Maybe things are improving :eek:

Cape Town, Meadowridge - after last weekend's fierce winds, I had an intermittent connection problem. I logged a fault on Telkom's site and this morning (Sunday nogal!) the techie was onsite to repair a bad connection on the local pole to house wire.

Is Telkom's service rate improving? Amazing what competition can do!

Nevertheless good to hear that the response time of the ADSL Fault Reporting Line has improved. :)
 
Thought I was alone - called 0800 dsl dsl and before the music even started..Hello! Had to pick up the phone again and turn it off loudspeaker and in the process cut him off. Dialled again, lo and behold, answered immediately. I'm still in shock.

Yeah seems they're finally doing something about it. Either because they saw the **** feedback on this forum, or because they know Neotel's a threat.
