Telkom is taking me for a ride & Big Ride BEWARE: You might be also dragged in)
I have a 5102 router / 2gb.
My problem started 3 weeks ago. I noticed my internet speed is very very slow, so slow that at times i cant open a simple google page. I done an online Bandwidth test at: http://games.saix.net/ (bandwidth test link on left side) and i get a reading of 142 Kbps. This is Damn slow.
I contacted there 0800 375 375 number (waited 50 min) before i was helped. they acknowledged the problem, opened a fault ticket, but guess what its 2 weeks & no luck (ALL THEY DO IS SEND ME A SMS DAILY TO SAY FAULT IS NOT RESOLVED) , that is not all The biggest problem "what i say is taking me for a ride"
Since i started experiencing this problem, my Bandwidth is going & going fast.. (my browsing habits have not changed)
I sit every day on the net +/- 12 hours (never before was i capped, because i don't download movies, music etc, Just browse)
But this month i was capped (2gb) by the 10th, i bought 1gb online, capped 3 days later, Now i was really really upset, so i made 100% sure i just do normal browsing, Bought another 1gb online capped again, i am busy with my 5th Gig for the month {which will be capped very soon) and its only the 18th...
I am trying to call the 0800 number to query the status of my fault & you know what i was put on hold for 1 1/2 hours then call cut's, i call back again its now 1 hour still no reply...
I am so fu**ing frustrated.... what the f**ck to do ??
PLEASE HELP ME....PLZ HELP ME...

I see a whole lot of works i dont really want to read..

If you need help on this forum atleast take some time to make your gripes reader friendly!

And get a bandwidth monitor and antivirus, anti spyware and firewall software

Agreed on that.

Also check on WindowsUpdates.

Your PC might be infected with a virus/trojan/spambot which is emailing itself/sending out spam.

Or else somebody might have hacked your router and stolen your login credentials.

Sounds like the problem lies with your PC.

Download some scanning software and virus utility's and do some test first. Also make sure updates are turned of on newly installed programs.

run the command netstat and see whats going on. post the results here and we can help u take a look.
