so as of last night i moved from telkoms 2meg uncapped to mwebs 6meg uncapped. My contact with telkom expires on the 26th of July. But i contacted telkom and they did everything on their side. I have the mweb settings inputted into the 10.0.0.2 site for my router and everything. and when i go to Speedtest.net it recognizes my isp is from MWEB. but my max speed that i am getting is only 1.7-1.9 megs. Should i wait until my contract expires with telkom before my speed is 6mbs?

You have to phone telkom and ask them to upgrade your ADSL LINE to 10mbps(there is only 2/4/10/20/40mb options) just changing what internet package you are on won't do anything if your ADSL line is still 2mb(has nothing to do with what mweb package you buy).

The above is correct, you get line speed which is provided by telkom no matter which isp you are with (sometimes the isp may offer adsl line, but all they are doing is ordering it from telkom on your behalf.) And then you get your internet package speed as mentioned above, this is the speed the isp is allowing you to reach.

if you are still stuck, please post all the details of the mweb package you got.
