Telkom to boost ADSL penetration

Not if prices stay the same. Although I can afford it currently I will not get ADSL unless the price gets to about R200/month. I refuse to get ripped off.

Yar telscum maybe like lower your prices, hey?

Same here and at the moment it's a luxury in my house, and I refuse to pay those prices, even though I would really like it, I do not need it that much.

NGN would enable the group to ramp up its service offering to include services such as Internet Protocol TV, High Definition TV, broadband access, WAN and LAN services and Voice over IP.

HDTV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D

http://www.mybroadband.co.za/nephp/?m=show&id=5838:confused: since when did Telkodemonopolies have a 6% ADSL penetration rate? - Is the current ADSL penetration rate not less than 0.5% ?

I wonder if that 6% is not the amount of Telkom slaves that has ADSL?

BTW, I also won't get ADSL unless the prive is at least R300 uncapped, with about 512kbps. That's my threshold.

Keep on dreaming ...

I'm no longer suprised by the fact that Telkom doesn't know it's backend from it's elbow.

http://http://www.fin24.co.za/articles/default/display_article.aspx?Nav=ns&ArticleID=1518-24_2080663 ... Headline = "Telkom halts drastic price cuts" and some interesting issues raised in the article too.

It should be blaringly obvious that Telkom has grown far too complacent and has too many disjointed systems and business policies that they've exceeded the point where they often conflict with each other and result in service outages, delayed repair, struggling 'helpdesks' and over inflated pricing to shift the cost from company operating fees onto the consumer to keep shareholders happy.

I think the 6% is the number of people who have fixed lines that also have signed up for DSL. Telkom being such an underhanded company quotes their penetration rate in terms of fixed lines and not in terms of the country's population which is how the rest of the planet does it.

im goin to laught at the day telkom launches 100 mb with 3 gig cap and the rest of the world is sitting on 1gb fibre lines
