Telkom Uncapped Wireless - Is it worth it?

Hey everybody,

So Telkom was down my street the other day and they were offering the LTE service.

I had a look at their website and it looks like their Uncapped wireless covers my area.

I am currently paying for a 2 mbps ADSL (fastest I can get in my area). So
- R397 for ADSL + Line rental with Afrihost
- R209 for a Phone Line

Telkom's deal for R799 and I don't mind adding the little extra if I get faster speeds.

Thing is: is it worth it?

I do a lot of gaming online and I stream a lot, so after what speeds would I be throttled at?

Also, the 2 year contract worries me.

So, does anyone here have Telkom LTE? Do you game online with it? Is the service reliable?

Also what's the usage limit before I get throttled?

Don't know about throttling yet, but I game. Play World of Tanks (NA and EU) and World of Warcraft (EU), the pings are typical mobile. During the day in the week an epic 190 to 230 to EU and 290 to NA, and evenings it goes up by about 100 to 200 ms. Goes back down again from around 10 or 11 pm.

I've noticed the last Saturday at around 3 PM my ping jumped to about 500 on NA, which is horrible. Came back down about 4 hours later. Overall it works pretty well.

Last month i would have said go for it , best deal around .
New month , AUP applied
200GB get throttled to 4mbp/s - So still better that your 2mbps adsl
250GB get throttled/#Trolled to 256 Kb/s - at this point it is just **** , let's call it a capped account at this point here. or my uncapped account when i first got adsl many years back - can still play games ping is decent enough , just hope that game doesn't have a big update or you are going to wait along time.
