Does Telkom offer an uncapped ADSL, and if not what is the best ISP to go with for a decent price?

There is only one company that supplies uncapped at this stage, so you're choices are:

1) IS
2) IS
3) IS
:p

Webafrica has decent prices and service for IS uncapped.

There are 2 options for IS uncapped:
1) Express, with rolling limits, not entirely uncapped. Bit cheaper, no installation cost, own router.
2) Business Uncapped. No limits, R1700 installation cost and locked router that will only work in 1 location.

For more info go to www.webafrica.co.za

According to the guy in the Telkom store they will release it before or shortly after the worldcup. I doubt they can and will match the prices of Afrihost and the likes though.

I repeat, it is not going to happen.

Ever.

Ever? moggie I hope you're wrong ;). If Telkom "Never" offers uncapped, even after WACS/ACE/Main One and EASSy have landed, then in the not too distant future TelkomInternet will cease to function as a residential service provider... and assuming uncapped is here to stay (is sustainable), then that's a fact. So I hope you're not citing a Telkom source when you say "Never", because then Telkom's gotta change their views pretty quickly and get competitive again, or the stilts which hold them up (their customers) aren't going to be very strong, and we all know what happens when that gives in under a heavy load... So unless they plan to offer capped service as a 'free' included bonus of the mandatory line rental fee, or they sell much larger caps than they are now, for much less the cost than they are now, they're going to hit a dead end.

Mweb. They have the most money, they will be here for awhile. They will be the first offer triple play soon. Soon in SA can vary from 1 year to 30 years.
