Telkom upgrade 2Mbps to 4Mbps

I also called in for a 25% discount when I had a 2Mbps line, when said OK I sommer upgraded to a 4Mbps line...also thinking of a 10Mbps line now...

Did you tell them that you wanted a discount or tell them that you can't afford to pay that much for a crappy line?

Which department did you speak to?

Is anyone else experiencing crappy speeds?

My 4meg line looks more like a 1 meg line for the last 2 days.

Telkom is only willing to give me a 20% discount on my 2meg line...

With all video streaming services becoming available the internet is going to have to improve, and become cheaper to accommodate the required bandwidth.

"have to" sadly doesnt mean it will but fibre is only few kms away from me so hopefully they will roll out to me soon.

Have been under 300 meters from fibre for the last 3 years ...

Last estimate was R71 000.00 to connect to our complex.

Telkom: " i think we should increase our entry level ADSL speed to 2mbps because we feel its too slow"
- Dec, 2013

Telkom: " i think we should launch a 1mbps ADSL account for a cheap price instead of increasing our entry level ADSL speeds because 2mbps is too fast." - Aug 2015

There is a notable requirement for 1Mb/s. Not everyone need 2Mb/s. 1Mb/s is more than enough for emails and casual web browsing. If you want faster speeds, you will have to upgrade.

Well, i cant get more than 2mb :( Syncs at ADSL2+ though, but 4mb+ is impossible

Don't even have connectivity issues and sync NEVER drops :? fml

adsl2+ 9db
with the same speed :/

really
71k for 300m fibre?
Really, trenching, and other costs included ...

Will wait for them to connect the school - 100 meters further down the road, then the cost will drop to under R1500.00 ...

Then the Fiber will run past us on our side of the road ...
