Telkom upgrade....What just happened?

I signed up for the Telkom 1mb line in May 2012. Heard and read on the forum that guys will be upgraded free of charge to 2mb. Nov I ran a speedtest and got 1.5-1.8mb/s. SWEET!!

Friday 15/02/2013 my line was still flying and as of today 17/02/2013 its slooooooooow. Ran a speed test only to get max 0.7-0.8mb/s.

Checked with mweb and they said my line is a 1mb line. Checked on telkom's site and its also 1mb line. Where did the speed go? What happened to my "free" upgrade?

Telkom site says 4mb avail but line is 1mb.

If you account with your ISP is 1meg that is all you will get, even if your line runs at 10meg...

Thank you. its just weird that speedtest ran such high indications.
Am i right to say that telkom should've upgraded me to a 2mb?
Or is it just another trick?

Post your line stats of your router.

Example:

DownStream Connection Speed 4096 kbps
UpStream Connection Speed 512 kbps

So MWEB is not giving me 2mb but telkom is?

Yup. Gotta call 'em and upgrade. Rather move your line over and have 'em handle it as well.

Can someone please help I have a 4mb line with Telkom, I have faster speeds with Mweb 1mb line

Telkom ISP accounts did have problems today with latency and speed
