So I got this SMS from Telkom this morning:
"Telkom is upgrading infrastructure in your area for an even better service experience. Your services could be interrupted during this process and a stabilization period of 48 hours may be experienced.
Telkom is committed to keep the service interruption to a minimum. For more information, please visit www.telkom.co.za/noticeboard regularly for dates. Should you still experience service difficulties after 48 hours please call 10210 (Residential) or 10217 (Business). Telkom"
When I went to that noticeboard URL and entered my phone number, the site told me my connection wasn't being upgraded. So I tried logging a fault - but the fault logging system told me my number was part of an area fault. WTF, why can't they get their information straight?

And my actual speedtest shows a lovely 0.95mbps down: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/5413752205
Prior to this 'upgrade' I was getting 3.5mbps down.
Anybody else experienced this before? Should I moan now or wait to see if it 'stabilizes'? I've already suffered a 4-day downtime this month, can I claim credit from these clowns?
