I'm asking here as somewhere, someone's been in this situation and hopefully found a work around.
How do you get Openserve to open a residential estate up where Telkom is the only ISP that's allowed to connect clients?
Openserve's coverage map shows no coverage, but when you're in the property, you're looking straight at the Telkom branded D Link router and the Alcatel-Lucent ONT.
It appears that many moons ago the HOA entered into a contract with Telkom. None of the existing trustees know anything about this, nor can the find the contract.
Of course, Telkom aren't going to just give up their little cash cow, so talking to them has not achieved much.
