TelkomInternet August Capping Stats

TelkomInternet ISP- CAP

Well thanks Telkom for the reduction in price. It is awesome to save R30 or R50 bucks. However there is a catch to it. Well my cap was the past few months being capped on 6,3 Gbyte. I do not know how could some people get 9 Gbytes out. Well this month as in Monday morning I was capped at 5,3 Gbytes.I could not even went to Telkomsa.net website on one stage, If this is the trend I see that Telkom ISP will lose a number of clients.The majority of us went to Telkom because of the relaxed cap. Every few months they start to reduce the relaxed cap to lesser and lesser.

I have cancelled my Telkom Account 6months ago...
 
I really think it is funny how people complain about getting more than they pay for. :D Where can you get 5 - 6gb intl for R199?

I get 5-6Gb intl from my IS 3/27 account (R209), with the benefit of local access up to 30gb.

lol, i also get my share on my local only account ;)

But at least with the telkom one you can budget for getting it, whereas with the IS account you need to go crazy to get there

Do3 - SASA says 6.165GB in total. Will update with official Telkom stats tomorrow.

I upgraded to Do2 at the beginning of August but (off course) ran my old Do1 into the ground prior to that; got capped on 1.034 Gigs. Do2 still at 72% usage.
 
I have been consistently getting just over 6GBs on my 3GB account for the past 4 months.
 
I'm going to nail this Do2 account to see how far I can get next week sometime.
 
:D well when i got capped,usage tracker showed 4.8GB......:confused: then when i checked up week later it showed 6.1GB.....wierd:mad:

o well got my 6gb that what counts:D
 
This is a heavy slow month for me. its almost the end of August and I dont even got 2gb yet. Im gonna go mad on the last day of the month.
 
As a matter of interest does telkom hard cap you as soon as you reach 6GB on a DO 3GB package or is there a certain time of day that it takes affect eg. midnight?
 
What is strange about this whole lot is that Telkom claim that they need to reset our connection once a day to ascertain our usage , BUT go over the cap threshold (2x ?) and they will cap you the minute of the day you do so.

This proves that there is real-time tracking of usage.

I'll probably get capped in a couple of hours :( I'm already @ 5.9GB on a 3GB account, just shows you that if you do favours for people, you're left dry.

Anyone got a Prepaid GB they don't use? :p
