TelkomInternet Capped Clients - August 2006

Just hit 5 Gigs :D Not capped  So that means if im not capped tomorrow im allowed to basically download 10 gigs and Telkom cant do anything ? (tomorrow being the last day of the month  )
Yes, but it takes more than 4 hours to download a gig on a 512k connection, so this is an excellent case for upgrading to 4MB! You'll probably get about 5 for the day.

When will I be able to Authenticate again? 00:00?

i say get a 3 gig acc and download like hell with the 4096 line, that 6 gig a day, even if it last only 3 days u win ... anything over 3gig is anyway a win

thats what i ment (was stil thinking about 1024) , well YEAH even better, 20gig for R250? not so bad.. even can get a 2gig for R199, even cheaper ..

They cant reset u in 24 hours, so u have 24 hours to dl like MAD!

im raping the torrents as we speak. Downloading Paris Hiltons album.Gotta Love it :D

At 6.8 gigs and and still going.i think il be at about 8gigs before 00:00.then im gonna have to take one HUGE chill pill from tomorrow :(

4096 / 8.8 = 465.45kb per second
x 60 x 60 / 1024 / 1024 = 1.59GB per hour
x 24 = 38.31GB per day
x 30 (average) = 1.12 TB per month

(less 15% would be a good estimate)

HOLY CRAP!!!!! Surely Telkom are gonna come down on all the abusers now HARD! cauz if you do that much thats really abusing it.theyl probably just simply cap you right if u do 20 gigs in one day?

why will they, we are the custemers* we give them, money, the 4mb is only trail so same rules will apply as before ...

i will give saix R3000 / month for 4mb uncapped... did u hear me Mr. CEO, we have a deal?

my account wont authenticate :( How long till I get uncapped

I managed to top 17GB in August without getting capped, that is a new record for me. Most of that was done in the last week of the month. I wonder is there a strategy to getting the maximum throughput without getting capped?

G, why do you divide by 8.8?
Is this your way of factoring (no pun intended) a 10% packet overhead loss?

Cheers

That's correct, however some routers are syncing at 4560 which already does away with the packet loss... which means even more usage :D

My previous post I saidI used 6.5 gigs, I was wrong it was 16gigs. forgot to add the uploads and what i used in the last day. Still wasnt capped.

4.6gigs in two days, got my account on 30Aug. No stats showing for Sep yet but I downloaded 2.1gigs already
