TelkomInternet - Capped Users for June 2007

Capped for June

Was capped just before 12 this evening on telkom 3GB account.

3 110 993 577 downloaded

3 680 643 888 combined total for the month 3,6GB

Might as well buy a 5GB account from webafrica if I am not going to get at least 6GB from a telkom 3GB account.

PM bonobo, he will prob. sort you out to get that 6gb
 
On a 1Gig do account I was capped a few days ago. SAIX and SASA don't want to check the stats, it says the username/pass isn't authenticating but I'm sure I didn't get 2 gigs off this account. bonobo did say the 1 gig was softcapped this month so yeah I'm very disappointed.
 
Yep... on a 1GB account i was capped at 1GB and bonobo said that is correct.... 1GB is 1GB.

That kinda sucks as i know i went for the dobroadband one with telkom as i thought i would get at least 2GB... Funnily I recomended somebody wanting to go with MWEB for R299 a month rather go with telkom because you should get 2GB for the 1GB and not have to worry about having to pay for extra bandwidth.... I better phone him before i look like the idiot for recommending the dobroadband package.

Very dissapointing!
Thought these do broadband deals were too good to be true!

But that's the thing, bonobo mentioned in the May thread that 1GB was softcapped still. He must've meant that it was soft for May only, I guess this month it's different. :( Just when we decide to go with do this happens :(
 
Just for your amusement: Was capped at 1.1 Gig on a 2 Gig account. After 2 hours on the phone, Telkom realised that they had enabled a 1 Gig ISDN instead of a 2 Gig ADSL account (Same price). So now I have a new 2 Gig account and the promise of a credit for the 1 Gig. So maybe I will get a total of 5 Gigs out of the deal:)
 
Telkom is becoming less and less a proposition .
What I don’t understand is that competition is coming and it look like the are doing their best to alienate their clients
 
Here is one for you:

I bought a 1gb account from telkom iternet at the end of last month, I hadn't even used it ONCE this month only to find it is capped. I phoned telkom and asked them to check my account login history and they agree that I didn't use the account once this month, yet it is capped. Bandwidth theft, anyone?

I am truly convinced that the "secure" site on online.telkomsa.net that they use to allow one to purchase new accounts online is sniffable and that is where they got my password from, I mean it hasn't even been on my router this month so there is no way they could steal it from my router (which would be impossible, considering the security I throw on it). So what the hell, Telkom?

I got capped in 3 days on 1087MB with the do1 package and then went with WA but today i called Telscum and upgraded to the 2gig and the agent said that users can go over by as much as 50% of their cap on the 2gig and up pakages...

I just checked and I also got about 1030MB on my account..capped in 3 days too. :(
 
Got 7gigs in..
Now capped..
The worst thing freaking is I left some torrent program open. Yesterday I uploaded freaking 3gigs!!!!! That PISSES me off!!!!
Oh well that will teach me!
2 weeks without freaking adsl.
What a bitch
