Hello everyone,

I know that this is a rather boring, infact.Typicall ,lame and odd subject to talk about but I just decided to close the matter by asking these about the most talked about ISP in Southern Africa.

Telkom
In a sentence?
Telkom is in Metro rail’s case. They got the infrastructure first. And their damn manipulating people to suck the very last cent out of the population they took advantage of.

What makes Telkom so horrible?
The fact that they charge extremely high rates for very low ,near useless data. Telkom shares 50% of the blame, the ever controversial A.N.C takes the other half as to why South Africa is nowhere near a world data ranking of great broadband/Adsl/Internet access .We are beaten by countries like Kenya. If you look at it. Telkom has been active for a long time. With the net money they make, it is relatively easy to secure South Africa a good 4-10mbps range at an entry level of at least 2mbps.

Telkom’s way of things:
Here’s what Telkom is doing ,and how they operate. It is a big company… falling slowly. They are the biggest in the country [Africa as well correct me if I’m wrong].So, what does someone depended on by a mass population of eager consumers do? Well, Telkom charges high rates, they focus on quantity ,not quality. They don’t really value their customers at all. They give us short term, unsustained stupid “surprises” here and now to keep us from rioting. They now promised to dump the entry speed and bump it up to 1mbps at the lowest. The very same deal was later postponed ,and now we have to pay more on line rentals just to get this. Quiet a deal considering they have nothing to loose and were getting this upgrade by paying more.

Comparison to the world:
I am not going to bother.

My conclusion?
Telkom should shape up, transform itself and provide quality service to people.

What do you think?
Is Telkom doing enough?
Will South Africans ever get access to quality broadband speeds?

Let everybody know what you think…

I was contacted by phone a while ago to complete a survey.I let them know what i thought of thier service. To date. There has been no evidence of progression with their problems.Perhaps it was a false hope to keep the general consumer in a suspense of hope?

Oh,changelog:
1mbps entry speed delayed more months
Line rental goes up

Yes, Telkom is working to the best of our interest. *sarcasm*
