Telkomsa.net Outlook issues

Hi All,
I am having issues with my Telkom mail. I am receiving all my mail from Telkom on my phone but as of 10 January I have not received mail to my Outlook account on my PC.
I have spent a fortune on calls to Telkom agents without resolution. I finally resorted to Telkom Webmail as a sort term measure.
This morning I received 2 mails on my Outlook and all all my mail on Webmail was cleared. Within an hour the service once again failed. I am now receiving mail on the phone but only on my phone, nothing to Outlook or Webmail.
Are there other folk out there with similar issues? Incidentally all possible tests from my side are running clean. PIng to SMTP, POP3, Testing incoming/ outgoing setting. The Repair function connects successfully and send a test message which I never receive.

PS - are there any recommendations on simplifying the migration to another service provider??
 
A friend of mine's mom was also having issues last year with Telkom's email - upgrading her old version of MS Office to MS Office 365 did NOT sort out the problem, and she also had the problem of sporadically receiving emails one day & then none the following day - and UNABLE to send out any emails - even trying their browser based Webmail also had limited success as well.

Eventually the ONLY solution was to just keep all of her OLD emails in Outlook - she was using POP3 so they were all available - and ditch Telkom COMPLETELY as her email provider - and create a new GMAIL account for her that syncs to Outlook as well.

PS - I would still be interested to know how wide spread this issue is.
 
Plan of Action:

  1. Setup a GMAIL account takes less than a minute,
  2. then in GMAIL tell it fetch your Telkom email going forward,
  3. then only give it your new gmail address going forward,
  4. in a couple of months when you have updated all your contacts about your new gmail address tell Telkom to cancel the old email account.
  5. Never look back
You can even set GMAIL to tag your incoming Telkom email so you can clearly see what came from the old email address and decide on updating that sender on your new address or not.

Sorry to hijack but I have a staff member with a Telkom email account that can receive and not send.
Where can I get the correct IMAP/POP3 settings that work in Outlook 365

The Telkom IMAP/POP3 settings for sending emails in ANY version of MS Outlook do NOT work anymore - see my previous posts & links above. The ONLY solution is to DITCH Telkom as an email provider & migrate over to a GMAIL account.
 
HAL 9000 is correct that the SMTP (outgoing) settings do NOT work, and while I agree that telkomsa.net should be ditched asap, my client is a pensioner and it will be a nightmare to go through that process.
I have instead used the SMTP2GO method as shown here and explained here.
There is no rate limit and it works flawlessly on Outlook and Thunderbird

X
