Looking for something that works with HassIO that can monitor and log temperature inside a fridge?

I know Wifi doesn't work but has anyone tried Zigbee or another solution?

You could try something like this - the thermocouple shown here is probably for high temp work but I have a couple of K-type thermocouples with a silicone sleeve that are so thin you can just run them between door and seal without problems. Or drill a 2mm hole through the fridge wall's and poke it through. You'll have to figure out how to make it talk to HassIO/ Home Assistant, I'm not smart enough for that.

Edit: or just drill a hole and poke the probe from a Sonoff TH 16 through.

take a plastic cup fill it halfway with water and freeze.
Once frozen put a coin on top.

if it defrost the coin will sink and you know food maybe spoiled even if the water freezes again

OMW Soo old school but functional

Why I not think of that!!

I wonder if your fridge really is that cold :whistling:

And the Zigbee is dead:

And sorry yes the Freezer part of the Fridge/Freezer. Why would I care if my Sprite defrosted? :p

Edit: Oh and yes I am blond, forgot I had this meter. Has both alarm and memory functions, so can set alarm for 0ºC.

No power at home for 8 hours.

Means my food defrosted or not.
Whats wrong with your inverter.

I have a frost free fridge. Biggest mistake in South Africa. You want a fridge that has enough ice build up to replace Mount Everest.

How fast do you think a freezer defrosts?

That's the thing if you don't open the door takes 8-10 hours. Mrs did open it this morning before we left so don't know 100%.

Today might not such a big issue but this is also not the 1st time, been having it more and more last month we even had 3 days of no power. So I am planning to prevent a problem ;)

Not to worry got my solution. Will just use my TM308 as mentioned above.
