Tempted to go BD-R

I think the internet speed and capacity (even in SA) is getting to a point where it is useless storing hundreds of hours of stuff to watch. I also built up a collection a few years ago, but I found that I almost never watch the old stuff again. Stuff that you have watched you can keep for maybe a year if you want to share with others, but after that you can just as well delete it. It is easier to download a season or a movie again, or even stream it, if you want to watch it than managing a 8 TB library IMO.

EDIT: CD's also went bad after a few years due to the burning, does the same happen to Blurays?

I use my protable DVD-RW as much as I use my portable Stiffy drive. Maybe I should just delete more stuff instead of writing it to DVD?

Just delete old stuff, you could always download it again should you need it which rarely happens I have found.

I've got a BD-R drive in my laptop, I've watched about 3 movies and burned 2 DVDs in the 18 months I've had it.
