Already a backlash on the feminist angle a la Ghostbusters.

Paramount Pictures have released an official photo for the upcoming Terminator movie, with its three female stars front and centre.
And predictably, fanboys of the internet have responded with bitter rage.
The film stars Linda Hamilton, who will reprise her iconic role as Sarah Connor, along with newcomers Natalia Reyes (as Dani Ramos) and Mackenzie Davis (as Grace).
Although the film will co star Arnold Schwarzenegger, who originated the role of the titular cyborg assassin, the sneak-peek photo suggests it's the women who'll be running the show.

meh...that franchise has been sliding downhill since the second movie. Doubt the ladies can be blamed if the next installment sucks also.

That dude in the video didn't find anyone in Ocean's 8 hot...did we watch the same movie?

I don't get these all female movies as they go against the franchise but I also don't get the hectic backlash though. Terminator has been cr@p since T2 anyway! This will likely be no different.

The backlash should be over the recasting a franchise that already seen it's glory days and should be left alone. Some of these reboots / movies are starting to feel really tired now.

Movies gonna suck not because of the women but because Terminator has been on a downward trajectory since T2.

Just like the Alien franchise. Try as they might to give us another Ripley, its not going to work because the female leads since her (Rapace and Waterston) have been given terrible material to work with.

James Cameron heavily behind this so not sure if we can compare it to what came after T2.

We'll have to wait for the first trailer to hit.

I have no problem with a black bond, Irdis Elba would make a great bond as an example, bond is not imo restricted by race. However I don't think a female bond would work as it'd be completely out of character.

Agree mostly (especially with Idris Elba though he's aging out of the role) but would add that Bond himself has been evolving with the times. He's gone from being a good 'ol boy smacking ladies' asses to being far more restrained in the casual sex department.

The real problem with a gender-swap is that female-led action movies don't make as much money. The recent Tomb Raider and Atomic Blonde had 2 of the best actresses around today and those movies barely made a dent at the box office. Ditto the Ghost in the Shell remake.
