whats not easy to do? blocked 150 of the 230 balls face or score a century in a test?

so when your at the crease holding a bat ready to hit a ball, what else can be other than batting?

would be boring, 100 in a 50 over game boring?

you think a 100 off 52 balls would be forgettable :)

nothing both teams look to score plenty of runs

whats different between all the other countries 5 day and 50 over teams

the 50 over team actually looks to score runs

Apparently it happens more than it should at the Lords cricket ground (matches are drawn)

The conversation when onto the fact that test matches are long and boring and when drawn are just not at all worth it.

I'm a total cricket nut, I love it, but I can't stand test cricket, why players must play for 5 days is beyond me.

In those 5 days, they can play 2 games of 50 over games and it'll be more exciting and pull in more money etc.

So... what do you guys think?

Test cricket is all about concentration, endurance and fitness. 20/20 is a joke. Test cricket is the original form of cricket, and it should stay. Besides, teams are scoring alot more and alot faster than say 10 years back. What's greater than seeing a match-up between Tendulkar and Brett Lee in test match cricket ? I could sit through a test for all 5 days. It's just a brilliant form of cricket. It's not like the teams block all day.

True that.
I can remember pretty much all the tests and test series that SA have played since 1992.
Not all that many one day games stand out.

Bowlers play a role in test cricket as does fielding and captaincy.
Always facinating to watch a bowler working out a batsmen.

Remember Atherton vs Donald?
Not many runs, but the most entertaining cricket u could ever hope to watch.
Warne vs Tendulkar...
....
 
i watch sport for entertainment, not to sit bored out my freakin mind hehe

some ppl enjoy golf which is the same as 5 day cricket :)

different strokes for different folks

Well, that's a broad generalisation. All teams, T20, ODI and Test, are (normally) looking to score runs. Unfortunately the Australian teams are often better at it than other teams.

In this test we've just played, the aim in our second innings wasn't to score runs, but to survive. That's one of the things that I like about test cricket - there is more strategy than "wallop the ball". Watching Anderson repeatedly aim for Amla's beard, and Amla's protection of same, was pretty absorbing.

Feel free to disagree.
 
As you say killa, some people enjoy golf :confused:

If you don't enjoy test cricket, it's pretty pointless to force yourself to watch it.

Who says test cricket is boring ? ;)
 
Well I think soccer is the most boring game ever to watch!! So everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Give me a test match like the current one over 90 minutes of back and forth kicking, with a bit of diving and acting thrown in, the odd kissing and butt slapping, which results in a 0-0 draw, any day of the week!
