Test Match -Stadium not full

I'm not a cheapskate, but I think 400 is expensive, i could get a 30lt keg of draught with that..

The point of the thread, was the empty stadiums on big game days, rather have 40000 souls paying 100 bucks as 10 000 souls paying 400 , thereby creating a better atmosphere....

+1. If the tickets were between R100 and R175, I would go at least twice a year for the atmosphere.
 
Definitely not at Kings Park, these past two seasons seem to have had the worst attendance in a long time.
 
Too many of the people I know would have loved to go, but at R450 the price was just too much.

If it had been R250 or R300... then the stadium would have been full.
 
There were tickets on sale for R150, but they per behind the posts. It didn't look like those areas were full either though.

I have a season ticket and we always sit behind the posts. Helps when you want to see the lines and overlaps, plus the security is less fussy when it comes to drinking.

In winter I go behind the posts at loftus because it is at least 2 degrees warmer.

And you'd think those short-sighted mofos at DSTV would realise that a mass player exodus means their income could become endangered - perhaps they would one day be tempted to give the unions more money earmarked for players.
 
Attendance was a little over 30 000 yesterday, I think 30 018. That's 10 000 below capacity. Tickets were more expensive than in Durban 450 and 350 vs 450 and 150, and Nelspruit had about 6 500 more people.
 
Thing is, every test match should be at capacity regardless of where it is being held.
 
Step in the right direction. For a family of 3, who can afford 1.35K to watch a game?

Too right. England pulled 81,458 for the home test against Italy in this years Six Nations. For comparison, against France they pulled in an even 82,000 fans. Attempts to make excuses for weaker opposition is unfounded.

Wonder how their ticket prices stack up vs SA's.
 
£40, £60, £70, £83 and £98. Juniors (15 and under) - 50% concession

That's how they get 80k + spectators. And don't pull the "If you convert it" bullshyte, they pay in pounds, not rands.

Jip that would basically come down to around R180 for the cheapest ticket.

I would pay R180 for a ticket to see the Boks.

Also if you have kids you pay R90 for the cheaper seats.

One thing that must be remembered though is that the disposable income in SA is a lot less than in the UK.

How would you have us compare the prices?
£40 is about 10 Big Macs in the UK
R150 is about 5 Big Macs in SA

I think that this is a factor, though rich folks in SA could easily be paying the SA ticket prices.
