Test your connection speed

I bought a starter pack of Virgin mobile a week ago, downloaded gprs settings and everything I needed, connected, but cannot connect to any site at all. In Windows internet explorer, the green bar at the bottom gets halfway, and nothing further for near 10 minutes, and then I switched it off. This was about 7hoo pm. I even suffered to download emails. Can anyone pls help me?

Try it at other times of the day like 7am in the morning - if you can.
It maybe the network was busy or something like that.

What are using to connect to the net?

Sorry wrong info, browser was not cleared. I did once a test which gave right setting, I then did only a refresh afterwards which gave me the wrong results.
