Well there is an ADSL trend going, so far most of the posted ADSL results show faster upload than download, and if that is a consistent trend, it means that ADSL is definitely worth going for if doing medium-2-large-traffic-hosting.

I knew iBurst wasn't going to be ideal for hosting- after all how reliable can wireless actually be vs landline? But, there is a definite iBurst problem ATM, as evidenced by the sporadic lack of upload speed, maybe it is environmental, not even WBS seem to know.

I wonder what hosting prices in Poland & Hungary are like...

Also, had some Burst-i problems, and my graph is also showing some (not as many as TheYak's tho) consecutive 0 upload speeds.

RPM, thank you for initiating this testing programme, I think there are going to be some very unhappy WBS marketing & sales people, if they don't sort out this problem that has been happening IMO, since 2004-12-23.
 
iburst support

The support guys at iBurst need a change of tune. They refuse to admit that their system is borderline unuseable. According to them, we are all delusionary.
 
Ok, to allow LSM to test your connection's latency, you will have to make sure that your firewall isn't blocking ICMP Echo Requests (<edited old_text="subtype 8">type 8, subtype 0</edited>) from 203.147.129.11.

In my case, I have created an exception rule to allow ICMP Echo Requests for that IP address. As to your own h/w or s/w firewall config - read the help file. If you use CA's eTrust EZ Firewall then I can help you - just ask, altho I'm sure most here will already know-how :)

A story to tell, as I was downloading the "speed test" my iBurst froze at 96% :( after being there for more than 3 minutes, I then disconnected then ran it again only to download the file in 8sec or 607KB/Sec, :eek: so there is some inconsistency with iBurst.
