Texting while driving, this has to stop

By reporting her, YOU ARE NOT COSTING HER HER JOB. The fault LIES WITH HER. SHE IS COSTING HERSELF HER JOB by breaking the law in a branded vehicle.

Lead SA. Report this kind of thing. Let people know their wilful transgressions of the law get noticed and have consequences. God knows the police aren't doing it, so we need to.
Exactly.

Eish but who does not use his mobile phone while driving?

I don't, touch screens and driving, not good combo :) Plus this chick could have had an emergency, know she could have pulled over, but who knows she was maybe on her way to try and get to her child that fell in a swimming pool. Not worth messing with someone's job because she made one mistake (not saying she doesn't do it all the time as we will not know) but I do not think it is worth burning someone over this. I am assuming no one got injured whilst she was texting away...

But yes, I have gotten the finger from a lot of people that drift into my lane whilst texting or talking on their phones, and then me making sure they know I am unhappy with them. So I agree that it should not happen.

Nerdy guy checks hot girl out > nerdy guy waves > hot girl gives off *what the fock look* and looks away > nerdy guy gets mad takes photos and reports her

Oh how vigilant we are fighting the unspeakable evil of texting while driving.

You all's mothers must be so proud.

Imagine, if you will, how much attention to the road this woman was paying when we (I was passenger in this case) could get into JUST the right position next to her and I could frame this photo before shooting it. I even had the time to wait and watch for when she looked up so I could indicate that she was caught out. And, in a country that reportedly kills 14000 people a year, nonsense like this is what contributes to the problem.

FTR, this was along Northumberland just after The Dome, heading to Beyers Naudé; that I will freely acknowledge is a lovely straight section of dual carriageway. Which in no way makes this behaviour right and when you consider that people are most likely to do what they consistently do, I can only infer that this is something that she regularly does.

Or she could learn a lesson that saves her life.

Sorry, but part of the reason this country is descending into anarchy is precisely because of this attitude.

Question - so I can safely assume that all you law abiding citizens above have never used a cellphone while driving?

Highly doubt she'll lose her job.

"I have this idiot staring at me. I'm worried that he might try something. Please wait outside by the office."

Actually, I'm not so sure. If this photo gets alot of exposure it will be very embarassing for the company - it's the kind of thing that can get a person fired. Large corporates don't have souls, they have public images......

I've seen this on the highway many times. I'm glad I pulled over out of the fast lane when I saw a woman doing this in traffic once coming from Hans Strydom to Rivionia on the N1, I did that and she moer'ed into the guy infront of me because she kept looking down on her phone

And I am sure that all of you have 100% legit copies of all your software, movies, series's, etc in your house.. :)

OP where you in the passenger seat or driving and using your mobile to snap a pic?

No, I have a bluetooth system fitted. If you want to use your phone while driving then you should bare the expense of having a handsfree system fitted. Using a cellphone while driving has been proven to increase the risk of accidents, there's absolutely no way to justify this.

If you read england deliciously you would have seen the OP said they were the passenger and they could even take their time framing the photo because this woman was doing it constantly and barely looking up

Once again, you are weighing and comparing events with totally different probabilities of ever happening. But like I said, I would just like to know if you considered the fact that she is likley to get fired before you sent your email.
Is she likely to be involved in a crash? In this country, that's a 'yes' for just about anyone given the craziness that is our traffic. Is it LIKELY that this behaviour has a high probability of causing a crash? Probably, those things happen WAY faster than you could think.

But is she likely to lose her job? Given that our labour laws make it a nigh impossibility to up and summarily fire someone, I highly doubt it.

And, frankly, I see FAR too much of this behaviour every ...EVERY day. And, given how much I (and by this I mean 'we', the road user) already have to watch out for, I'm not at all bok with THIS kind of zoned-out idiot making it worse.

And I am sure that all of you have 100% legit copies of all your software, movies, series's, etc in your house.. :)

Keep on topic man ;) But actually, until very recently I could say yes to this. Then bought a portable hard drive coz i was tired of missing some episodes of series on DSTV. And then succumbed to getting some other movies. Bad boy I know. But I'm not the one preaching perfect adherence to the law then hey.
