Where do you get that price? Current prices for Emirates to Thailand are nearly double that.I paid R5700 for my Emirates tickets with short stop overs..

How much is a transit visa if u go via LHR?question from my side, I understand most flights to Thailand from JHB go via Dubai, is this the cheapest? or can flying somewhere alternative work out cheaper?
like flying from jhb to Hong kong (direct) and catching a Dragonair to Thailand, phuket?
or even flying via LHR via BA direct to Thailand work out cheaper
reason I ask, is I would rather avoid that part of the world (Dubai) if possible, for political reasons.
Hi, let me ask the question slightly diff. Best way to deal with cash.
1. Get enough dollars for trip here and then exchange at phuket airport?
2. Just get baht here in sa and enjoy trip?
3. Just go nuts and swipe your fnb or virgin card there?
Ps if any one has an fnb global acc in dollar with card and think its better, let us know
In Bangla Road I had a great time in a venue called Lion Livemusic. I think they only open late afternoon, but the performers are pretty awesome. Spent a lot more time there than I planned to. For a more Western vibem if you've been there for quite a while, there is an awesome Irish pub in the Jungceylon Mall. Also, if you exit the mall from the other side, there is another Tiger Bar,, which I think is better than the one in Bangla Road.Well guys arrived in Phuket yesterday after a couple days in Singapore. Currently staying in Amari on the outskirts of Patong and I must admit my only regret is not coming earlier. Went to Bangla road last night and my goodness the place is Hatfield Square in its prime x 100 with a few additional "sales people". Any recommendations of trendy bars or restaurants in Patong and then Phi Phi which I am hitting on Monday?
Phi-Phi has some cool pubs and cluns that are close together deeper into the little town closer to the other side of the island (not the pier side where the ferries come where you will find most of the touristy restaurants)Well guys arrived in Phuket yesterday after a couple days in Singapore.
