Check this weird post from him a few months before he disappeared. Posts in a obscure witness protection group with just a hundred members

If you ask me the guy was using drugs or just paranoid. No sane person would post that on obscure facebook group

Playing around with the idea of living in Thailand for a year. I have a passive income of around 3.5K a month (after tax) - anyone have an idea of living costs to see if this is viable? I've seen wildly different estimates/experiences from Google searches and other expat forums.

On only 3.5k zar? No way. Even without having to pay rent, you will struggle. The Rand tanking also doesn't help. If you can get a job as a bartender or something then maybe.

That's perfect! 100K Baht per month as a single guy is the sweet spot for me, so you should be fine. Sorting a long-term visa (even for a year) might be difficult if you are under 50, but you could enroll in a Thai language course to get a student visa.

Are there any mandatory injections/shots needed to visit Thailand ?
The only info I could find is that a RT-PCR should be done.
