Thank You Telkom

Hmm, they convinced my father to upgrade and it won't sync to 10MB, same router.

Downstream Upstream
Line Coding(Trellis): On On
SNR Margin (dB): 233 140
Attenuation (dB): 80 50
Output Power (dBm): 12 11
Attainable Rate (Kbps): 11552 1180
Rate (Kbps): 4096 512

Called in for profile reset and it didn't change. What could I possibly try before I tell telkom to go back to 4mb.

EDIT:
Nvm they lied. http://www.broadbandstats.co.za/exchange/EBCB

Those line stats show that you are still on a ADSL1 sync profile, so yeah 4Mbps max supported.

However, broadbandstats.co.za is not necessarily up to date (eg it says my suburb's exchange supports max 4Mbps, but also said only 10Mbps is available, but I'm currently on 20Mbps).

You could try Telkom's ADSL line checker:http://www2.telkom.co.za/checkadsl/check.htm

It's unfortunately also not always accurate.
