A big thanks from Vodacom to all the forumites who helped us in our startup year, getting the 3G service up and running. We came quite a long way in the last year and learned a lot of valuable lessons, some more painful than others :) .

The forum's contribution to this was not insignificant.

Looking forward to strengthen this in the following year. I'm sure we're going to have some challenges (HSDPA comes to mind), but in the best tradition of MyADSL, together we'll get there.

Thanks especially to Rudolph for providing this platform and ic for keeping us all in line.

Have a great new years tonight!

(PS. I'm still holding thumbs but pre-paid data probably won't happen this year....)

Do you think you could have a word with papi & co? Show them how a semi-responsible company can work WITH the consumers and not just with their wallets? :D

prepaid bundles - the bane of v3g :D

but seriously, thanks to you too, v3g, for all the help and support that you have provided here - you are a real credit to your company (who knows, maybe one of the top guys at vodacom will see this and give you a raise :D)

a great new year to you too!

While I definitly to not approve of most of your policies and prices, I do welcome your more active paticipation with customers. For that I wish you all a happy new year.

I must compliment Vodacom for the last year, although prices are still not acceptable and service still needs a lot of improvement..... things are really looking up.

Prices have come down (if only slightly), service has improved (if only thanks to V3G) and the product offering has gotten closer to what we would expect from South Africas leading cellular provider.

For all my complaints and problems over the last year (V3G knows about most of them), it has been a good year, I have had fewer problems than ever before and overall its cost me less.

I am looking forward to next year and I expect that things will only get better.

Keep up the hard work and well done on a great year.

Vodacom3g, thank you for helping countless individuals with their Vodacom related questions, billing problems and technical problems and for passing the opinions and wishes of everyone on to management.

I would like to thanks the ppl at Vodacom for their excellent services.

We never had a problem with Vodacom so far, so no complaints from our side.

Now if somebody can design the perfect cellphone... ;)

I agree 100% - not only are you doing a great job, but you are also not beating around the bush. Honesty is the best policy ;)

Apart from the HSDPA rollout, how about lowering your prices?

And a roll-over of unused bandwidth will also help, even if you limit the maximum available bandwidth at any time to double the subscribed amount.

Why two months/double the subscribed amount? - that is MTN's style. It should be 6 (or 6 times) or more - like the included minutes.

The Vodacom 3G router is such a nice thingy. Perfect for a backup solution if Telkom ADSL fails - only three things wrong with it:

The router is expensive

No roll over of unused data from month to month

No pre-paid Data bundles

:-)

Hi Vodacom3G

All credit must go to you and Vodacom for making use of this online environment to serve your customers better and improve your products. Many of the other telecoms companies know exactly how much value there is in what you are doing and would like to follow suit, but somehow they just can’t seem to match Vodacom. It is no surprise that Vodacom comes out tops in all our customer related surveys.

Regards,

RPM

Thanks To All Concerned

My thanks too, to V3G, and the behind the scenes guys at Vodacom for doing their best to keep the service as stable and operationable as possible.

I think if we all cast our minds back a year, and see the progress that has been made in the Vodacom 3G network since then, I think we'll all agree that things have certainly improved 10 fold!

From more 3G coverage becoming availabe everyday, to a far more stable, and "fast" connection, these are but just a few of the improvements.

Thanks too to the engineers that spent time at my place getting the signal optimised, and pushing to have the area included in the Phase 2 expension as quickly as it was.

Overall very happy with the Vodacom 3G service - yes there have been some frustrating and trying times in the past, but it's the way that V3G, and his company have handled them, that will continue to keep me a loyal Vodacom subscriber!

Thanks again :)
