I remember a while ago someone posted something about an online store for PC games that they thought was selling dodgy pirated games.... Has it closed down yet? I can't remember the name...

Yea that one..... How on earth does it stay open?

Don't know.

Remember buying 2 games from them back in 1999.
The owner was eating at a Spur I worked at, came back the next day with a box of games.
There was a "crack" folder on the cd's.
Had to overwrite the exe with it.

These guys are also in Joberg.

There was a police raid a few years back, where they confiscated a few 1000pirate games.
Didn't help...

Because corporate fat casts insist of sticking with a pricing model that no longer fits the current digital landscape. Why would I buy you if I could have you for next to nothing? Change your strategy or compete, and in this case the guy who has been running the business is obviously doing rather well. Although buying pirated goods should not be done over downloading if you can do so. Free vs. Pay I know what i pick

Everything is overpriced. What's the price of a PC game anyway? R350?
How much food can you buy for that? How much decent clothing can you buy? One jersey at Woolworths? How much fuel can you put in the tank for that? Not even a full tank.

Yes bought by not buying (and not playing) many of these games.
If u think games are expensive, games which give you what 10-20-50hrs of
enjoyment, how much is the price of a single 2 hr movie ticket?

EVERYTHING is expensive basically or maybe ppl just don't earn enough in SA.

Well, I ain't knowingly going to support pirates.
They're worse than the corporates.

More like R200-R250..even at Incredible Corruption.
Pc games are cheap. if a game is awesome, I buy it..even if I copy it first and then buy the "bargain bin" R90 version a year later :o

I know what you mean. One of the few games I ever bought (and played :) )
was ONI. I imported it in 2000 from the States, paid quite a bit - considering I had to pay like $15 shipping and then customs. 1-2 years later the game came out at Checkers for like R39.99. You can still get it there.... boy.
It was a good game, I recommend Oni to all Ghost in the Shell/anime fans :).

ONI FTW! I used to play that like a phat kid eats cake! :D

Think I was made by Bungie...?

Otherwise, I have heard about that place... lol, guess the only way you can tell if it's fake is buy a game that requires online activation? although who's going to give up the money?

EDIT:
Yup it was Bungie, R* & GoD
